CG TET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to appear in two different examinations for eligibility for teaching at Primary and Upper Primary level. Minimum qualifications for these examinations are as follows:-

For Teaching in Classes I to V :

  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) and passed or has been admitted and is pursuing 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks (or its equivalent) and passed or has been admitted and is pursuing two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulation 2002 OR
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) and passed or has been admitted and is pursuing four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) OR
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) and passed or has been admitted and is pursuing two- year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation and passed or has been admitted and is pursuing two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

For Teaching in Classes VI to VIII :

  • Graduation and passed or has been admitted and is pursuing two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or Two year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) passed or has been admitted and is pursuing. OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or Two year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) has been admitted and is pursuing or passed in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or has been admitted and is pursuing four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or has been admitted and is pursuing four-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a one year Bachelor in Education B.Ed. (Special Education) or two year Bachelor in Education B.Ed. (Special Education) passed or has been admitted and is pursuing.
