UTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

UTET I Class I – IV (for Primary Teachers)

  1. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and two years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./ B.T.C.). OR

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and two years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./ B.T.C.), obtained in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Standards and Procedure) Regulations, 2002. OR

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). OR

    Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and two year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR

    Graduation (or its equivalent) and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./ B.T.C.). OR

    Graduation with minimum 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

  2. Shikshamitras working on honorarium in government primary schools, who have passed two years D.El.D. training from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) after the permission of the State Government.

UTET II Class VI – VIII (for Upper Primary Teachers)

  • Graduation (or its equivalent) and passed two years Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C./ D.El.Ed.). OR
  • Graduation (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and passed Bachelor of Education B.Ed./ L.T./ Shiksha Shastri (Institutional only). OR
  • Graduation (or its equivalent) with minimum 45% marks and B.Ed./ L.T./ Shiksha Shastri (Institutional only) in Education as per the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. received accordingly. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./ B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed. OR
  • Graduation (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and passed B.Ed. (Special Education) recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). OR
  • Graduation or Post Graduation with minimum 50% marks and passed B.Ed. Provided that the condition of minimum percentage of marks at graduation level will not be applicable in case of incumbents who have enrolled in Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course before July 29, 2011.
