SBI PO Eligibility Criteria
SBI PO Eligibility Criteria will be updated once the official notification is released. The SBI PO eligibility criteria according to previous year notification is as follows. The eligibility criteria is subject to change.
Essential Academic Qualifications:
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
- Basic knowledge of computer is a must.
- The date of passing eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/Institute.
Age Criteria:
Minimum Age Limit: 21 Years
Maximum Age Limit: 30 Years
SBI PO Exam Pattern 2020
SBI PO is a three-tier exam i.e. preliminary exam, main exam followed by Group Discussion & Personal Interview. Following is the expected exam pattern of SBI PO 2020 according to previous year notification.
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks is conducted online. This test is of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections(with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Candidates have to qualify the test by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. There will be no sectional cutoff. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) are shortlisted for the Main Examination.
Phase – II: Main Examination
Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests is online. Candidates have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of the Objective Test, Descriptive Test is administered.

- Objective Test: The objective test is of 3 hours duration & consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test has separate timing for every section.
- Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks is a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in the objective test.
Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination): There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
Phase – III: Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test are arranged in descending order in each category. The adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank are called for Group Exercises and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Exercises & Interview are decided by the Bank.
