BHU School Entrance Test SET Eligibility Criteria 2026

For Class IX : 13 to 15 years of age as on 31.03.2026 i.e. date of birth should not be before 31.03.2011 and after 31.03.2013 and have passed class 8th examination from a recognized school. (Children born on 1st April, 2013 will also be considered.)

For class XI : 18 years of maximum age as on 31.03.2026 i.e. date of birth should not be before 31.03.2008 and have passed class 10th examination from a recognized Board/ University.

For External Candidates (Coming Through SET):

1. Eligibility criteria for admission in Class XI should be minimum passing marks (33%) in Class X.
2. Seats allotment in different streams for Class XI will be based on aggregate percentage of marks in class X board result for internal candidates and SET index for external candidates.
3. All students including BHU employee ward must secure minimum 33% marks in the School Entrance Test. The eligibility criteria for SC/ ST/ DIVYANG (Only OH) is 25% of marks in SET 2026.

BHU SET Minimum Number of Available Seats 2026

• CHBS: Class IX- 76, XI Maths Stream- 54, XI Biology Stream- 27, XI Arts Stream- 14 and XI Commerce Stream- 13
• CHGS: Class IX – Nil, XI Maths Stream – 13, XI Biology Stream – 13, XI Arts Stream – 15 and XI Commerce Stream – 20
• Note for class XI: Stream wise number of seats for external candidates in both the schools may vary as per the admission of internal candidates.
